The Tin Widow is a cozy, late-night corner bar built for people who actually like to drink what’s in the glass. Slip into the dim light, let your eyes adjust to the vintage frames and oddities on the walls, and settle in with a classic cocktail or something new from our gin and whiskey shelves. First dates, industry hangs, after-dinner nightcaps—this is where they tend to run long.
The Tin Widow opened in 2014 on South 2nd Street in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood and has quietly become a go-to spot for people who care about spirits as much as atmosphere. Built by a small, long-tenured team, the bar mixes serious ingredients with an easygoing attitude: you can nerd out over rare gin, sip a carefully built Old Fashioned, or just grab a High Life at the bar and talk to your bartender.
Our shelves hold hundreds of gins and whiskeys from around the world, with a rotating list of house cocktails that lean into those spirits without getting precious about them. Think: classics done right, clever riffs, and a staff that’s happy to steer you toward something you’ll actually enjoy.

Gin is the heartbeat here, with a deep list that runs from bright and citrusy to bold, savory, and downright strange—in a good way. If you think you “don’t like gin,” you probably just haven’t met the right one yet. Our bartenders can walk you through styles, botanicals, and builds until you land on a pour or cocktail that changes your mind.

Tin Widow feels a little like stumbling into a 1970s relative’s rec room—if that relative also happened to be a spirits collector. The walls are stacked with vintage portraits, eclectic iconography, thrift-store finds, and more than a few owls keeping watch. There’s a long, candle-lit bar, cocktail tables along the wall, and a snug lounge space toward the back where conversations stretch out.
It’s dim, warm, and a bit off-kilter in all the right ways: the kind of room where first dates, regulars, and industry folks all end up at the same bar rail by last call.

The Tin Widow sits at 703 S 2nd St in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood, just south of downtown and a short hop from the Historic Third Ward. The bar is tucked into a stretch of 2nd Street lined with restaurants, breweries, and other late-night spots, so it works as an easy first stop, last stop, or only stop for the night. It’s a quick walk or rideshare from downtown, Bay View, and much of the near south side. Step in off 2nd Street and the traffic and city noise drop into the background, replaced by low light, music, and the sound of glassware and conversation.
